Chris Levy is an entrepreneur and orthopaedic surgeon. He spoke at our Christmas lunch in November 2016. He described how he had been inspired to build surgical centres for children with disabilities in Malawi, Zambia, and (hopefully) in Zimbabwe. In particular, he was interested in curing club foot, which is so devastating and restricting if not treated, but which can be very successfully treated in young babies. He told us of the pitfalls and challenges he and his team had faced in dealing with officialdom in sub-Sarahan Africa, and of the fun, and the huge rewards. It was a truly inspirational talk.
