Nicola is currently Executive Director of Garsington Opera, and she spoke to the Club in February 2015. Her talk was entitled "Behind the
scenes at Garsington Opera".
Garsington Opera is a professional opera company presenting an annual festival of outstanding artistic quality in a setting of
extraordinary natural beauty on the Wormsley Estate in Buckinghamshire, home of the Getty family.
Nicola was born and brought up in Oxford, and she was educated at Headington School, and Bryanston School, and was
then a choral scholar at Selwyn College, Cambridge.
She began her career administering music festivals at Chichester, Salisbury, Exeter and York, and went on to work
in “Events”, “Membership”, “Press” and “PR” for the National Theatre, and subsequently for the Historic Houses Association.
After returning to Oxford in 1997 she took up the position of Associate Director at Garsinigton Opera, from which she progressed to
the position of Executive Director in 2012. She is married to conductor and teacher Neville Creed, and has four children.
